There is a hush that settles when Spirit draws near. The ordinary world softens, as if the edges blur and the familiar gives way to something vast, luminous, and eternal. In those moments, the veil feels less like a wall and more like a breath between worlds.

This was how Spirit first taught me the practice of sitting in the power. Not as another meditation technique. Not as a way to quiet my restless mind. But as a devotion, a surrender into the living current of Spirit.

Through that devotion, my book Whispers Beyond the Veil: Channeled Teachings Inspired by the Spirit World was born. And from those first teachings, two practices remain at the heart of my own journey:

  • Sitting in the Power
  • Reframing prayer from asking into listening

These are not lofty rituals. They are simple, daily ways of aligning ourselves with Spirit, ways of remembering what it means to be guided, restored, and led by something greater than ourselves.

Sitting in the Power: Resting in Spirit’s Current

When people come to me for spiritual guidance, they often expect fireworks: visions, voices, dramatic signs from the afterlife. But Spirit taught me something quieter and infinitely more profound:

“You do not need to reach for Spirit. Sit in stillness, and Spirit will rise to meet you.”

This is the essence of sitting in the power. It is not about effort or technique. It is about entering the presence that already surrounds us. You don’t chase Spirit—you allow Spirit.

Unlike meditation that seeks calm or clarity, sitting in the power meditation is about expansion. It is a merging with the source of life itself. Over time, it awakens your inner senses—clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience—without force or strain. It nourishes your receptivity and grounds your intuitive gifts in trust.

Without this practice, many seekers spend years chasing signs that slip through their grasp. With it, you discover that Spirit has been whispering all along—you simply weren’t attuned to the frequency.

Daily Devotion to Spirit

You don’t need hours. Five or ten minutes each day opens the doorway. The key is devotion, not duration.

  • Quiet the noise: Allow thoughts to rise and pass like ripples on water.
  • Rest in presence: Let yourself be held by Spirit’s current, without striving.
  • Receive, don’t reach: Notice impressions, feelings, or simply the stillness itself.

Some days will feel uneventful. Others will feel luminous. Both are sacred. Spirit doesn’t measure your progress by experiences; Spirit treasures your willingness to return.

Listening Prayer: The Sacred Dialogue

Most of us were taught to pray as though we were knocking on a door—asking, pleading, waiting for a response. Spirit showed me another way.

When prayer becomes listening instead of asking, the door swings open from the inside.

Listening prayer is an act of surrender. Instead of telling Spirit what you need, you rest in reverence, allowing what already is to rise within you. It is in this quiet that true guidance, mediumship, and higher self-communication unfold.

When I shifted into listening prayer, I discovered that Spirit had been answering me all along—just not in the language my mind was expecting. What I thought were silences were actually seeds being planted.

Soul Leadership: Leading Through Presence

If you are called to guide others, as a healer, mentor, teacher, or lightworker, these practices are not just for your private devotion. They shape the way you lead.

Soul leadership is not about titles, performance, or control. It is about being so rooted in Spirit’s presence that your very being becomes a safe haven for others.

When you integrate sitting in the power and listening prayer, you begin to carry stillness into every interaction. You don’t just speak about Spirit, you radiate Spirit. You don’t just offer guidance, you embody clarity.

Journaling: A Vessel for Spirit’s Whispers

Spirit often speaks in fragments, a feeling, an image, a phrase that drifts through like smoke. If you don’t capture it, it dissolves.

Journaling gives form to these subtleties. It allows Spirit’s whispers to land on the page, where they can grow into clarity and insight.

Here are three prompts to guide your reflection:

  1. When was the last time I listened—without agenda—to my higher self or to Spirit?
  2. How might my life shift if I made sitting in the power a daily devotion?
  3. What would it mean to lead from presence rather than performance in this season of my life?

Closing Reflection

Spirit is not hiding. Nor is it waiting for you to climb a mountain or master a technique. Spirit is here, now, already whispering in the spaces between your thoughts, already breathing beneath the noise of your life.

Sitting in the power, listening prayer, and journaling are simply ways of attuning. They are not destinations, but doorways.

When you walk through them with devotion, you begin to realize: the veil is not a barrier, only a thin breath between you and the love that has always held you.

If you feel called to deepen your connection with Spirit, I invite you to explore these practices further in my book, Whispers Beyond the Veil: Channeled Teachings Inspired by the Spirit World. You’ll discover step-by-step guidance on sitting in the power, listening prayer, and journaling to awaken your intuition and soul leadership.
